PRP Arsenal Riverside

Multi-Residential – London Style

The scale of developments in this bustling city is always impressive. On our return to London at the end of 2012, I spent some time working with PRP Architects as a BIM Consultant and Designer in their Multi-Residential team. After some of the creative and free flowing designs that were possible for overseas clients at my previous workplace, this felt very ordered and rectilinear – and for good reason. The Royal Arsenal Riverside Development sought to create beautiful living spaces for both market buyers and supported housing and there were strict London Housing Design guidelines to adhere to and a BREEAM sustainability certification also.  I relished diving into the design of spaces that would soon be on a construction site, as the developer, Berkeley Homes, was already underway with the first stage. It wouldn’t be long before they would be providing new homes to so many who were desperately searching for quality housing options at a manageable price.  Blocks C and D of 144 and 75 apartments respectively were the focus during my time there, and together with a lovely small group of architects, I worked through to the end of schematic design stage until our return to New Zealand.
